KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi Ameer Engr Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has accused the Pakistan People Party government in Sindh of ‘fascism’ and making a mockery of elections.
In his address to Idara Noor-e-Haq he accused the returning officer and the district representative of fraud while recounting the ballot papers in Union Council 4 of Gulshan-e-Hadeed.
He alleged that the DRO and RO showed loyalty to the PPP as if they were repeating the repetition despite the fact that the ballot bags were already torn. He said that the police are unable to provide the records of the remaining ballot papers.
He said that the UC won over the JI with 165 votes given to the PPP and fake 53 votes because only those rejected votes were cast for the JI.
He said that the JI complained to the Election Commission of Pakistan about holding elections in the name of recount, but unfortunately the commission failed to notice the corruption.
He said that the JI will take a ‘firm stand’ against the rigging of elections.
