Time and time again, BTS try to remind their fans to give them their privacy and they are only human. Recently, Jungkook became the topic of discussion on social media when it was reported that some fans gathered outside his gym, where he worked out. Later, in his Weverse Live broadcast, Jungkook addressed this concern and asked fans not to invade his privacy.
He said, “I will never say anything. I am so grateful that you are encouraging me, and sending me so much happiness and love. I am very grateful. It’s true.” He added, “Please don’t come to see me when I’m exercising. I was really surprised at the end.”
Jungkook explained further, “My training is over, and I have to go home. That’s when we did that live broadcast. About 20 minutes or 30 minutes… 20 minutes before I went home, and I turned on the live stream. I went home, but people were there. I am very grateful for the interest you have shown me, but it is not an official series (I went to it). Now you know.” He also said that he is also human.
Jungkook also deleted Instagram amid all the speculation, however, he clarified that it was because he doesn’t use it much.
BTS often discusses privacy concerns with ‘sasaeng’ people. In fact, Jungkook and J-Hope often receive calls from customers. Sasaeng, means private life in Korean, and sasaeng fans refers to a serious fan, who conspires and invades the privacy of an idol. At one point, Jungkook said on Weverse Live, after receiving a call from a fan, “This is a call from a fan. It’s saying ‘You’re doing a V-Live but I just called to check.’ What I do is I block the phone immediately. I actually get a lot of calls from sasaeng fans.”
In the past, V (Kim Taehyung) spoke about this, and expressed his concern about it in a V Live. He also revealed why they are forced to take a chartered flight, even though they want to take a commercial flight like everyone else. “I have to say this on behalf of our team. You know how we get on airplanes by ourselves? We fly on a chartered plane. We really want to fly on a regular plane. But when we travel far or far, fans may know in advance that we will come and sit next to us, or in front of us.
V continued, “There are those fans. In those private spaces, we can’t relax as much as we want. So we were a little disappointed. [And] to tell you straight, we don’t want you to do that. It’s really scary.”
