The central bank of Pakistan has received $500 million from the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, the first of three funds approved for the recovery, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar said on the evening of on Friday.
Dar said that the formalities have been completed and ICBC has confirmed the entry of a $1.3 billion facility that was repaid by Pakistan in recent months.
His tweet came after he said that Pakistan is expecting an increase in loan from China, while he shared economic statistics under the previous government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and blamed Imran Khan in the current state of the country’s economy.
