On Friday, a hearing was held before the Supreme Court in the Gyan Vapi Masjid case in Varanasi. The application was filed by the Hindu side because of the temporary order issued on May 17 last not to destroy the ‘Shivling’ (which the Muslim side calls the fountain ) ended on November 12. According to this situation, the High Court announced today that the temporary order to protect the attic and the disputed structure will continue until the next order.
A bench of Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, Justice Suryakanth and PS Narasimha passed the order on a petition filed by Hindu groups and said, “We direct the issuance of the interim order of May 17 to await further orders.” It is important to note that. on May 17, the Supreme Court ordered that during the inspection of the mosque, no damage should be done to any structure that has a conflict or opposition.
