Delhi: Students submit papers, exam suddenly cancelled;  Sunday's test has also been cancelled

New Delhi: The ‘School of Open Learning’ (SOL) of Delhi University (DU) on Saturday suddenly announced the cancellation of first year examinations for BA and B.Com courses. The announcement was made at a time when students were taking exams and were asked to submit their answer sheets. The University office said that the SOL test scheduled for Sunday has also been cancelled, but the next day will remain the same.

He said that the dates of these two cases will be announced soon. Saturday is the first day of exams for students of these courses and there are two shifts in the morning and evening. One of the senior officers of the university said that because of a “mistake”, all the students were called to come for the exam in the morning shift, causing the exams to be cancelled. As soon as the exam was cancelled, a notice was issued for the cancellation of the exam outside the exam centers.

Sangeeta, a first-year BA student, said she reached her exam center on time and the regular exams began, but a few minutes later the students were informed about the cancellation. . He said, “My test center is Miranda House. I arrived on time. We filled in our information and distributed question papers. We were given the allotted time to read the question paper.”

Sangeeta said hundreds of students gathered outside the center demanding answers. They found a notice posted at the main entrance of the College, which said, “As per the information received from the examination branch, the SOL test for the morning and evening today”. The next date of the exam will be notified later.

The university official said that the exams for Saturday and Sunday have been cancelled. Meanwhile, Registrar Vikas Gupta told ‘PTI-Bhasha’, “New numbers will be issued to students.” We are investigating this error. In a message issued by the University of Delhi, its assistant registrar said the exam has been canceled “due to unavoidable circumstances”.
