The university has written to the University Grants Commission (UGC). The administration of the university announced the latest decision and also said that the Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate will be implemented in all classes from the academic year 2024-25 because it needs enough time to change the admission rules. Is.
The UGC introduced the regular University admission last year for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. However, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) does not use regular University admission for all its courses and passes. Recently, UGC has asked JMI to conduct Common University Entrance UG in all classes from academic year 2023-24.
In its reply to the UGC, the university said that only 20 courses will be offered through the Common University Entrance UG and PG. It consists of 15 undergraduate courses and 5 graduate courses. JMI offers admission to most programs through an entrance exam administered by the university and, where applicable, followed by a four interviews and/or third parties.
